Chicago is a smart, satirical musical that uses the flashy world of 1920s vaudeville to explore themes that are still relevant today. In the midst of the "Roaring Twenties," aspiring vaudevillian Roxie Hart and fading nightclub star Velma Kelly both end up in jail for murder. In a city obsessed with celebrity and scandal, they turn to charismatic lawyer Billy Flynn, who helps them turn their crimes into a media circus. As the women compete for headlines, the show uses a sensational score and incredible choreography to challenge us to look at the intersection of entertainment, fame, and justice.

Last year, the Village Theater made history by entering the prestigious Tommy Tune Awards for the first time with financial support from Village Enrichment, which funded our initial license fees. This year, your ticket purchase will build on that success.
 
This year, all proceeds from ticket sales will go directly toward licensing fees, costumes, set design, lighting, and sound equipment, etc. for the Tommy Tunes Award Competition, which will not only help our talented students showcase their work but also fund improvements to our performance spaces.
