The Gala FAQs

What is the mission and purpose of the 2024 Village School Gala?

The mission of this year’s Annual Gala is to raise funds to provide financial support to the Visual and Performing Arts Program at The Village School. Our goal is to raise $50,000 which will support high-quality fine arts education that extends beyond the classroom by providing opportunities, experiences, and resources including funding masterclasses,  competitions, and travel costs.

What is the Gala?

The Gala is an adults-only party that offers the entire community a chance to come together and celebrate the school in a fun and festive atmosphere. There will be dancing, entertainment by Magician Ben Jackson, open bar, student art gallery, fashion show and best-dressed contest, and a chance to raise money for the school via online and live auctions. A week prior to the event, you can preview the silent auction items and bid ONLINE for items such as memorabilia, class projects, wine baskets, campus store swag, name the MS and ES driveway, and even coveted items such as VIP Parking Spot, Front Row Seats at Graduation, and many more. Our LIVE auction items are available for bidders physically present at the event and include First in Line at Carpool, Director of the Day, Head of School for the Day, just to name a few, and a mystery auction item never before offered!

What is a Silent Auction and what does it do?

A silent auction gives Village school families and friends the opportunity to actively participate in supporting Village and maybe even make an exciting purchase - all online as well as in person. Items are donated and the full purchase amount goes straight to the designated beneficiary – this year the Fine Arts program.

How does it work?  You will register to bid when the auction opens April 1st and can participate from wherever you are – even if you are not able to attend the Gala. A credit card will be placed on file and when you “win” the item(s), you will be charged.

Why do we have to purchase Gala tickets?

The cost of the tickets pay for expenses such as the venue rental, food and beverage, entertainment, photo booth, and decorations.

Why does The Village School have a Gala?

Proceeds from the Gala benefit “nice extras” as well as necessary resources that are not covered in your tuition. Funds from previous events have been earmarked for things like purchasing items to support student and staff wellness such as gaga pits on the MS and ES campuses, a new outdoor basketball goal and putting green on the HS campus, and the teacher’s workrooms receiving massage chairs.

This year we will direct all proceeds to benefit Fine Arts (choir, band, orchestra, theater, dance, comedy sportz, and the visual arts (2D/3D/Digital/Media). This could fund special guest artists for theater, dance and music classes, travel fees, and tournament costs, which directly benefits our children and staff. These funds are needed as these are above and beyond the tuition…think of this as the fun sprinkles on a cupcake – making everything just a bit better!

I cannot attend but want to support the Fine Arts program.

You can still support the Fine Arts program by donating an auction item, becoming a sponsor, purchasing tickets to sponsor a teacher, or bidding in the online silent auction.

What are the benefits of donating or becoming a sponsor?

The Village School Enrichment Organization (VSEO) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit tax-exempt charitable corporation under IRS rules. EIN Tax ID Number 93-1897524. You will receive a tax deduction by donating and also enjoy the numerous benefits that come with “partnering” with Village, including (and dependent on level), event tickets, special recognition in event materials, and acknowledgement of your support through other Village School marketing and social media. By becoming a sponsor, you are making a direct impact on students at The Village School and providing them invaluable opportunities and experiences that would not otherwise be covered in their tuition.

What do I wear?

The Gala theme for 2024 is “Masquerade Ball” so either dress “fancy” or go all out in your own disguise. You probably already have an outfit in your closet, and we will have simple masquerade masks available for those who do not want to purchase their own ahead of time.

Sounds FUN!  How do I buy tickets?

Buy tickets HERE! Tickets are $200 which pays for the venue rental, food and beverage, entertainment, photo booth, and decorations.

Can my friends and I sit together?

YES! We will have options for you to select who you want to sit with. Each table can accommodate 10 people.

I don’t really know anyone, can I still come?

YES! We will have options for you to select when you purchase your ticket to sit with your child's grade level. You must make selection on the form.

Do teachers attend the Gala?

YES! Teachers are encouraged to attend and many of the Leadership Team will also be in attendance. You can even purchase tickets and sponsor a teacher.

Who can I contact for questions regarding the Gala?

You can email Kim Healy at kim.healy@thevillageschool.com
